Terms & Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lucyd ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. We may update these Terms at any time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to participate in prediction markets in your jurisdiction. By using the Platform you represent that you meet these requirements.

Lucyd does not offer services to residents of the United States, sanctioned jurisdictions, or any region where prediction markets are prohibited by law. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with local regulations.

3. No Trading Fees

Placing, modifying, and cancelling orders on Lucyd is free of charge. No maker or taker fee is applied at the time of matching.

No protocol fee is currently charged on winning positions.

Lucyd may introduce a protocol fee of up to 3% of the redeemed amount on winning positions. A change applies only to markets created after it; each market keeps the fee in force when it was created. Gas costs for on-chain settlement are paid by the user and depend on Sepolia network conditions.

4. Market Resolution

Markets resolve automatically on-chain at the end of each market period. Resolution is performed by a smart contract resolver that reads the BTC/USD price from a decentralised price oracle (Pyth Network).

Resolution is final once the on-chain transaction is confirmed. There is no off-chain dispute or appeal mechanism. If the data source is unavailable, produces an ambiguous result, or the resolution is called more than 24 hours after market expiry, the market is automatically voided and all collateral is returned in full at a fixed rate of 0.50 USDC per token.

5. Non-Custodial Wallets

Lucyd uses non-custodial smart contracts. Your funds and outcome tokens are held in contracts you interact with directly — Lucyd does not hold custody of user assets. We cannot freeze, reverse, or recover funds in the event of user error, lost credentials, or on-chain exploits beyond our control.

Embedded wallets created through our authentication provider (Privy) are controlled by you. Lucyd does not have access to your private keys.

6. Risk Disclosure

Trading on prediction markets involves financial risk. You may lose all funds you stake. Past market accuracy is not indicative of future results. Smart contracts, oracle systems, and blockchain networks carry technical risks including bugs, exploits, and downtime.

By using the Platform you acknowledge these risks and agree that Lucyd is not liable for any losses arising from trading activity, smart contract failure, or market resolution outcomes.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to: manipulate market prices, engage in wash trading, exploit bugs or vulnerabilities, attempt to access systems without authorisation, or use the Platform for money laundering or any other unlawful purpose.

Lucyd may restrict access to the interface for wallets or IP addresses found in violation. Smart contract interactions cannot be blocked and remain permissionless.

8. Privacy

Lucyd collects minimal personal data. When you create an account via email or Google, your email address is associated with your embedded wallet through our authentication provider. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

On-chain activity — orders, positions, and payouts — is publicly visible on the Sepolia blockchain by nature. Do not use the Platform if you require transaction privacy.

We may collect anonymised analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the Platform. You can contact us at [email protected] to request deletion of any personal data we hold.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and software on the Platform are owned by Lucyd or its licensors. The MCP server and related open-source tooling are released under the MIT License — see the respective repositories for details.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lucyd and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to trading losses, data loss, or service interruptions.

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Use of the Platform is entirely at your own risk.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are provided for informational purposes. Lucyd is a decentralised protocol with no central legal entity. By using the Platform you acknowledge that recourse options may be limited and that on-chain interactions are governed by the logic of the deployed smart contracts, not by any jurisdiction's laws.
